Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Well, 2019 is behind us. I’m sure all of you had your share of pain and heartbreaks, as I did, in 2019. I guess it’s all a part of life. Some years are worse than others, but we must move on and continue living.

Hopefully, you also had your share of joy, as I did. Overall, 2019 has been pretty nice to me, and I pray your joy and happiness overwhelmingly outweighed your painful events.

Now that 2019 in behind us I wish you all a happy, healthy 2020. It does not matter how well, or poorly, we do in the market, always remember “Health is Wealth”.

Let’s talk about the market a bit.

First, I would like to welcome a few more readers who subscribed this week. Please read all sections of Main Street beats Wall Street, and all other material you can find. It’s not about finding that diamond in the rough and getting rich. It’s about education, and developing a philosophy and strategy. And that strategy must not include a “get rich quick” scheme. Here at Main Street beats Wall Street we are about “slow and steady, steady and slow.” Please send me any questions you may have.

How about the year I had? As I said, every year we all have our own joyful and painful events, but when it comes to the market, percentage wise, I had the best year of my life. Hopefully, together, we can have a similar 2020.

I started the year with $77,968.74 in my account. I was coaching high school basketball so I didn’t make my first trade until 3/4/19. In the menu bar under “My Positions” take a look at my Trade History 2019. My Change in Value, as of today, is $78,823.23. This does not include any money I added to my account. This Change in Value is only the money I made from 3/4/19 to 12/31/19. This is a Rate of Return of 101%. I wouldn’t even dream of setting a goal of 101% in 10 months. I’ll be writing about my goals for 2020 in a day or 2.

My starting value of $77,968.74 plus my Change in Value leaves me with a value of $156,791.93. This is not what I’ll be starting 2020 with. I also had an addition of $1050 in dividends. Also, with me not coaching basketball this year I’ll be trading and teaching with Main Street beats Wall Street full time, so I added to my account $50,000. I’ll be buying more stock for my Wealth Builder and I still want a decent amount to trade with. All positions in my Wealth Builder portfolios was purchased with profits from my trading. If you add my 2019 starting value, my Change in Value, the dividends and the $50,000 contribution, I’ll be starting my trading tomorrow with $207,841.97. This is a nice size account to start with, thanks to 2019’s profits.

Enjoy the rest of your New Year’s Day and we’ll get to work tomorrow. I’ll probably remain idle for the rest of the week. If I do make a trade the Expiration Date will be for next week, Jan 10th.

Again, welcome new readers, and Happy New Year!

Successful Trading,

Steve
