I just bought 700 shares of VF Corp (VFC) at $88.25. As the stock was going up I sold a 7 contract 7/20/18 $90 Covered Call. I received a premium of $1.10 for $770.
This morning JP Morgan gave VFC an upgrade and raised the rating to “Overweight.”
I’ve been watching, or at least knew about VFC for about 30 years. It’s one of the first stocks my father followed in his “stock market” beginning days. V.F. Corp is engaged in the design, production, procurement, marketing and distribution of branded lifestyle apparel, footwear and related products. The Company’s segments include Outdoor & Action Sports, Jeanswear, Imagewear and Sportswear. Its brands primarily include The North Face, Vans, Timberland, Wrangler, Lee, and Kipling.
VF Corp Covered Call
Buy 700 Shares VF Corp @ $88.25
Sell to Open 7 VFC 7/20/18 $90.00 C @ $1.10 (+$770)
This trade gives me a return of 1.2% for the premium only in 1 week. It fits into my “1 Week/1%” strategy. This trade gets a Risk Factor 1.
If the stock continues up and goes above my Strike Price for assignment, this can be a very nice trade.
