“Main Street beats Wall Street” would like to wish everyone a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!
I’m back at my desk for the first time in 2017. I have a lot to talk about so you will probably get another email or 2 today. I just made my first trade of 2017 so you will get that report as soon as I’m done with this email. You will also get the “Results Week Ending 12/30/16” report. As everyone else, I had a very busy week. Now that we start 2017 it’s time to get back to work and making money.
You will see a few small changes to Main Street beats Wall Street to start 2017. I’m dropping the page “Message of the Day.” If I have an important message I feel is a “must read” I’ll send an email. Main Street beats Wall Street is an educational site, I’ll replace “Message of the Day” with “Term of the Day.” These will be financial or stock market terms that might help educate you to make you a better trader.
I will also be removing the page “Trade Confirmations.” It was located under “My Positions.” I thought this page was a good idea so Grasshoppers can see how trade confirmations get emailed from your broker after making a trade. It takes a little work and time to snap a picture from my emails and get it onto the blog page. I don’t mind doing it but I don’t think the page got one hit, so I guess readers were not interested in seeing the confirmations. Under “My Positions” I have a few pages that will be remaining. They are “Active Trades/Current Positions” and “Trade History 2016.” I will be adding “Trade History 2017.” Also, there are still a number of pages not completed. I hope I’ll get to them in the not too far future.
The main purpose of Main Street beats Wall Street is to teach how to make money trading options. Me teaching by example! Posting my REAL trades as I make them, and having the readers following my trade to see what the result will be when I exit the trade. This year I think I have done that! I leave my active trades listed and when they are no longer active I list them in my trade history along with my trade result. My reason for this site is not to impress you with my results, it’s to impress upon you the results anyone can have if they approach options trading in a disciplined manner and understand this game is not a “get rich quick” scheme. This is a slow and steady, steady and slow money making scheme.
2016 is over and now I start 2017. I will be starting with a clean slate. If you followed for any length of time you saw some very impressive gains. The last few months of 2017 did not go as well as the first 10 months. I started coaching basketball, traveling with some of my gains, the holidays etc, etc. I apologize for not having every trade posted but there were times where I was making so many trades I couldn’t keep up with the posting. The last few months I went against my philosophy and did a little gambling. The reason for this is I had many gains this year and it was either give it to the government at tax time or gamble a little for bigger gains, if it didn’t go my way I’d have some write-offs. I ended up with a few write-offs lol. It feels good to start a new year and get back to teaching. This year I’ll try to have the same gains as 2016 but at the end of the year I’ll stay loyal to my philosophy and go with giving the taxes to the government. With Trump in there we might have bigger bombs to build lol. Only joking! It’s no secret I wasn’t a huge Trump fan, however, I believe we must rally around him and pray for our beautiful country. As we did for Obama. I’m very excited with what Trump might bring to the table and I’m excited to see America respected on the world stage again. May God continue to bless America!
I would like to thank every for reading and supporting Main Street beats Wall Street. I thank you for your messages and emails with many questions and kind words. I really hope that if you get into this very exciting field of options trading you have all the success in the world. May God bless you with a disciplined philosophy and always remember, slow and steady, steady and slow! The tortoise wins the race. If you decide not to get on this road, you can continue to read and watch me fill my mattress.
A few special thanks: I would like to thank my son Steve for his help and support. Steve, continue your studying and keeping me on my toes. Thank you! Steve and I are working on a “Grasshopper Trading” page. This will be a trading page listing “Grasshopper” type trades. It will be trading with an account worth $20,000. Steve you are the best!
I would like to thank my son in-law Bob. Bob is a brilliant computer engineer who is also an options trader. Bob is a super analytical and technical trader who’s trades are a little above my head but our endless conversations help me greatly. Bob is also the best father ever to my 2 beautiful grandchildren. Bob may also be a Main Street beats Wall Street contributor soon.
I would like to thank my good friend John Cuilla. John is also a brilliant friend who is a brilliant trader/businessman. John is also one I can turn to for great advice who always has kind word for me, supporting anything I do. John is an educated precious metals investor and I hope he will be adding a precious metals page on Main Street beats Wall Street very soon. Thank you John for being a great friend.
Last (but not least) on my “special thanks” list is my cousin Tom. Tom was a big-wig with Cantor Fitzgerald. Tom was one of the few God said “Haven can Wait” to on Sept 11, 2001. After that horrible day, Tom decided to stay close to he’s family and work closer to home in Connecticut. He is now the Chief Operating Officer of an asset management company. Since Tom and I are a few months apart and born in the same house, he is the first friend I had in life. Tom, thank you for your advice, feedback and very informative articles. Keep them coming! I wish I listened to you about laying low the last few weeks of the year and protecting my gains. If I had I would have less write-offs lol. I’m also hoping to get Tom to write an article from time to time. Tom, it’s time for a Knick or Ranger game! Or just a steak!
As I think of the 4 special people above. I realize that are all smart, fun loving and great family people. This is a great combination of traits to find in a person.
If anyone has a friend into options please spread the word about Main Street beats Wall Street. Starting our second year, looking to build followers.
Happy New Year!
Steve
