“2017 Challenge”

It’s been a long time coming! My “2017 Challenge” is ready for review. As I said many times, the delay was because of my large position with U.S. Steel. After today’s close I no longer own the 10,000 shares! I carried the shares over from 2016 and have been selling Calls for the last 6 weeks. I’ve been looking to get assigned on my shares because I didn’t feel comfortable owning this amount of shares on a very volatile stock. Now that U.S. Steel closed In-th-Money my shares will be assigned at $36. I bought them in December for $35.73. I will go over the profit I made with U.S. Steel when I post my results for this week.

I had my”2017 Challenge” ready since early January but didn’t want to share it until I got out of at least half of my U.S. Steel position. The reason for this is I didn’t want to commit to my challenge, even though I already started until I knew I was out of a possible problem position. 10,000 shares of a very volatile stock could have put me in a bad situation. Now that I’m out, I’m ready to make the commitment to my “2017 Challenge.”
