Bought Calls in PLTR, SMCI, TSLA & IBIT

Today I bought options on four stocks. I am bullish on the market right now and buying options is a great way to make money with less of an investment. After I bought these positions the market moved down a little so let’s hope they recover by the end of the day. Here are the options I bought. There are four stocks, three have the Expiration Day of Jan 17th and one has Jan 10th.

Palantir

Buy to Open 5 PLTR 1/17/25 $80.00 C @ $6.90

 

Super Micro Computer

Buy to Open 2 SMCI 1/17/25 $46.00 C @ $6.27

 

Tesla

Buy to Open 1 TSLA 1/10/25 $395.00 C @ $31.00

 

Shares Bitcoin EFT

Buy to Open 2 IBIT 1/17/25 $57.00 C @ $4.80

 

None of these trades are Grasshopper Trades. Buying options can be dangerous and you must understand Intrinsic Value, Time Value and Time Decay. All of these options I bought At-the-Money and I went out to January with the Expiration Date. This gives me some protection against a stock temporarily moving down. The further out you go with the Expiration Date you have more time for the stock to recover. If you buy very short term options, like one week, and the stock moves down a day or two, you will have trouble recovering to make money.
