Welcome to “Main Street beats Wall Street”!

This site is for the stock investor/trader who wants to start trading stock options to further their financial goals.

This will be a grassroots educational website/blog for the beginner who wants to learn the fundamentals of trading stock options. “Main Street beats Wall Street” will also be great for the options trader with experience who is sick of losing money and wants to adopt a strategy which promotes growth instead of relying on a “get rich quick” scheme. Some knowledge of the financial markets and more specifically, the stock market is an absolute prerequisite to trading stock options. If you are confident you have enough knowledge in the stock market and trading stock, I, “The Options Coach,” with “Main Street beats Wall Street,“ will teach you that with a strong foundation of fundamentals, correct philosophies and strategies, and a lot of discipline, people who live on “Main Street, USA” throughout this country can be as successful as the people who work on “Wall Street.”

I make my money trading stocks and options. If you put in a little time, you too can make money; enough money to change your life forever. You can also build wealth for your family for generations to come.

Risk Factor Numbers

In “Main Street beats Wall Street,” you will find many pages of educational material written in easy-to-read language to help make an unfamiliar, intimidating subject easy to learn. In my blog section, I will not only post lessons on the inner workings of stock options, I will post every trade I make, and it will stay listed on the “Active Trades/Current Positions” page which can be found under “My Positions” on the menu bar. It will remain there until I exit that position, then the completed transaction will remain on the “Trade History” page, of the specific year, also located under “My Positions.”

I make hundreds of trades a year. I will not post last year’s trades, last month’s trades, or hypothetical trades. ONLY CURRENT REAL TRADES! I will post a trade when I get into a position and I will post the trade when I get out of that position. Along with my trade, I will post my “RISK FACTOR.” The risk of my trade will be rated on a scale from 1 to 5…1 being a low risk trade and 5 being a high risk trade. At the beginning of each trade, the “RISK FACTOR” number will be posted to let you know how risky the trade is before you start reading. When I post my trade exiting my position, you will see if I get out making money or losing money. No Hoopla! In doing so, with “Main Street beats Wall Street,“ you will see firsthand how the people living on Main Street can be as good as the people working on Wall Street at making money…. Now That’s Confidence!

How I became “The Options Coach”

As a young child, I always enjoyed games of strategy. And I was always pretty good at them. I always loved playing sports (especially basketball), the subject of math, building things or doing anything that presented a challenge. I also enjoyed doing whatever my father was doing. In my father’s free time, he loved trying to figure out ways to beat games of chance (casino games). This was right up my alley. He never had much luck with this, but it did lead him to the stock market. I started learning about the stock market with my father during my high school years. In my early years I learned things like ticker symbols, looking up corporate earnings, P/E ratios etc. At that time my father was only investing in stocks with the “buy and hold” theory. All information was ascertained from the New York Times. There was no CNBC. For that matter, there was no cable TV. After a few years, my father learned how he could sell his stock at a desired price and get paid a Premium for doing so by selling a Covered Call option (this will be explained in many areas on this site). Getting paid to sell stock! This is when I realized the unbelievable potential of the stock market.

Throughout my elementary years, high school years and college, I played the game of basketball. Not only did I play basketball, but it was the love of my life. I played every day of my life. I made every team I ever tried out for and by my college years I was a pretty good player. Even though I played with many NBA players, I wasn’t good enough for the NBA. After I completed my college years, I continued playing in many summer pro leagues, but, at this point, to get the real feeling of organized competition, I started coaching basketball. This is where I earned the name “The Coach.” I coached at the high school and college level starting at the age of 21. Coaching basketball is where I developed my organizational skills and really put my strategic mind to work. With the stock option’s market, I use my many years of coaching to my benefit. This, along with many years of owning multiple businesses, has made me a fundamentally sound, disciplined trader. I now have 30 years in the stock market and 25 years of options trading under my belt, and I feel like my opponent is getting very weak. My new opponent: WALL STREET!

After many teaching sessions with interested friends, I decided to build a platform to help many people far and near. My platform is “Main Street beats Wall Street.” With this website/blog, I will take my many years of teaching the fundamentals of basketball and transfer that teaching method to my new classroom: the internet! I am “The Options Coach”!

Why do I Want to be the “The Options Coach”?

I’ve read many “get rich quick” books and books on how to trade stocks and options, and let me tell you, many of the authors are misleading their readers. It’s not that they’re not knowledgeable or that they are lying. It’s because they’re not teachers. Many get into more complicated trading strategies before teaching basic trading fundamentals. From my years teaching high school and college basketball, I was never the coach who only taught the 3 point shot. I wanted to start with the easy shots. There might not be as many points involved, but they’re a lot easier to hit. I believe there is a place for the 3 point shot in basketball, and in the stock market, but I’d rather go for the easier opportunities first, and take the long shots when the opportunity best presents itself. I think most authors are only teaching the long shots to excite you with the possibility of a big reward, but they don’t fully explain what’s at stake if you don’t hit it big. They don’t explain the odds of not being successful. They want to sell you books, seminars and subscriptions to their newsletter or site. “Main Street beats Wall Street” is totally FREE and will tell you the truth. If you don’t educate yourself, you will lose money… a lot of money! Not preparing to win is preparing to lose!!

There are no “get rich quick” schemes that work with the stock market. You will not double your money every month, or make millions starting with a few thousand. However, if done right, you can make money, enough money to live a nice life and have security.

The question remains, why do I want to be The Options Coach? The bottom line is: I want to help you make money! And stop you from losing money! Period! I want to use my coaching and teaching experience to help as many people as I can. Coaching basketball taught me many things in life. The first thing it taught me was the importance of fundamentals, especially when other people are relying on you. When my high school players graduated and moved on to play college basketball, I received many calls from their new coaches on how fundamentally sound my players were, and how prepared they were to play the college game. I felt so much joy and happiness because I was able to help prepare a young adult for his college basketball career and for life in general. I am still that basketball coach who wants to see his players to do well in life. I still get great joy helping someone do well. (Read my Blog Blurbs and see what some of the readers are saying). I want to continue teaching and helping people through my coaching. “Main Street beats Wall Street” will help me do that.

This site is totally FREE. I cannot predict the future or predict the amount of work the site might take to keep up, but my plan is to keep it free. It’s been free since Jan 1st, 2016. I am not selling books, tapes, or running seminars. I am not charging a subscription fee. I make my money practicing what I preach: buying and selling stocks and options. I enjoy doing what I do best: teaching fundamentals and helping people be successful with trading options. I’m NOT a money hungry guy who can’t get enough. I only want enough to take care of my family, travel, be generous to my friends and be involved in charities I believe in. I have a beautiful home in NYC, multiple cars, two motorcycles and I travel when and to where I want. What else do I need? That’s all I desire! I also just sold a beautiful home on the water in Ft Lauderdale, FL. Way too much drinking there lol. With the life I live and the money I bring in with my trading, I don’t need to make money running a website and teaching people who want a better life. It’s my pleasure, and my little way of giving back for the great life I live.

Getting Started

Now that you have read my Home page, it’s time to move on. If you look at the top menu bar just under the “Main Street beats Wall Street” logo, you will see how to navigate around the site. You will see all the different sections. Some of the sections will have a drop down menu for additional pages. You can also look at the sidebar on the right side of the site. This will have additional sections you can visit. If you want to learn to trade options, you must read the pages of the “Educational” section. Whenever you visit another page, you can return to the Home page, or any other page you desire by clicking on it in the menu bar on top, or the sidebar. If you want to subscribe and receive all my trades as I make them, go to the subscribe box on the sidebar. Fill in your email and hit “Subscribe.” Go to your email and accept. You can cancel at any time. Your email will go no further. This site is a sealed system.
