Out of My PTON Call With a Profit
Earlier I bought 1000 shares of Peloton (PTON) at $68.50 And sold a 10 contract Call. I sold the 7/17/20 $69 Call for a $2 premium. The stock moved down to where the premium was at $1.40. I decided to do a “But to Close” for a $600 profit.
Sell to Open 10 PTON 7/17/20 $69.00 $2.00 (+$2000)
Buy to Close 10 PTON 7/17/20 $69.00 C @ $1.40 (-$1400)
Profit +$600
Today is a big up day. PTON does not move as well on up days. PTON is a COVID-19 stock. It will go up when the coronavirus causes the market to go down. The stock is down today but I think it will go up when the virus moves the market down. If, and when, this happens I hope to get another Call sold for another $2 premium. For the time being, I just locked in a $600 profit in a few hours.
I’m gonna enter an order to sell the same Call I sold this morning for another $2 premium. You never know, it might hit it today.
Also earlier I bought a 2 contract LEAPS on Workhorse (WKHS). A few of my students are in this stock and after a little homework I think the company can have some potential in the electric vehicle field. They concentrate on delivery vans and trucks and have a contract with UPS. I bought 2 WKHS 12/17/21 $18 Calls. Right now the stock is at $16.70. This position has a Delta of .74. This position expires in December of 2021.
Buy to Open 2 WKHS 12/17/21 $18.00 C @ $8.90
This position is listed on my Active Trades/Current Positions page under LEAPS.
Successful trading,
