Bought 1000 Shares of MU
Yesterday I listed a bunch of positions on my “Active Positions” page. I listed Covered Calls, Naked Calls and Long LEAPS positions. When I sold the Naked Call positions I also places “Buy Stop” orders to cover these Naked positions in the case the stocks take off. I was filled on the RH and TWTR stock buys but not on UAL, MU and the 1 contract of NVDA. It turns out I was filled on 1000 shares of MU right at the close and didn’t report it because I didn’t see the trade before I closed my computer. I now have a Covered Call with MU.
With the market set to open much higher this morning I could have a problem with my UAL and NVDA positions. I have buy orders on these stocks but they will not get filled while the market is closed. And now the stocks will open well above my buy price. This is the problem with “Buy Stop” orders.
I’m really not that concerned with this problem. There’s still a lot of time left to the week and I think the stock will be pulling back. If not I’ll figure something out. This is the great thing with options, if you have patience and discipline, there’s always a way to fix a problem.
Buy 1000 Shares MU @ $46.50
This should be a very interesting week! I think my new LEAPS positions will do well. Watch to see how I handle the UAL and NVDA positions in the case they close on Friday In-the-Money. I’ll try to write a post on “Buy Stop” orders for those who are not familiar.
Successful Trading,
