Results Week Ending 7/23/21

The wild market continues! It seems like there is no shortages of strange movement with all the indexes. Who knows? Maybe it’s only my positions that move differently. Monday was the worst day in over a year, however, all my stocks went up and my account went up over 15K. Market down 800, my account up 15K! This is strange to me.

Tuesday and Wednesday the market completely recovered and my account continued up. At the end of Wednesday the market was back to where it closed on Friday 7/16, 3 trading days before, Monday being the worst day in over a year! The high for the DOW on Friday 7/16 was 35,090 and the high for Friday 7/23 was 35,095. Having the DOW end up the same as the Friday before is not so strange, but between the 2 Fridays the market had its biggest swing. That seems strange to me. And with the market ending in the same place as the week before my account went up well over 50K. This is very strange to me! The open on Friday 7/16 and the close on Friday 7/23 had a difference of a few points.

Also, with the market moving a lot between the 2 Fridays I had one of my lowest weeks for bringing in premiums, however, my account went up over 50K. Strange!

I only had one trade expire in The Grasshopper Field. This one trade gave me a premium of $210. It’s listed below.

With my entire account I brought in $4305.

This was a 2 contract Covered Call. I’m in the stock at $43.45 and sold the $43.50 Calls. I brought in a premium of $1.05 which is a return of 2.4% for the 2 day trade.

Total Weekly Gain +$210

Bringing in a total of $4305 with all my trades is not the best week, but it’s not bad. You put it together with the amount my account recovered, I’m happy!

If you are a Grasshopper, be very careful. I feel it’s very difficult to make money with the way the market is moving. I’d rather see you sit on the sidelines for a little while.
