Filled on 3 More Trades
I was filled on 3 more trades, all to expire next Friday, the 23rd.
I sold a 10 contract Call with AMAT, a 10 contract Call with CREE and a Grasshopper Trade of 1 contract with U.S. Steel (X). All of these stocks are down a little from my buy-in price, and we are in the middle of this week, so I sold these Calls to expire in 10 days. This slightly extended Expiration Date gave me premiums I’m happy with. This also gets me started on next week’s income.
I bought 1000 shares of AMAT on 4/5 at $142.40. I owned the stock before this but I was assigned on a Covered Call. Against these shares I sold a Call last week bringing in a $4000 premium. The stock dropped back a little on a guidance report the street was not happy with. Today I sold a 10 contract $143 Call expiring on 4/23 for a premium of $1 for $1000.
Sell to Open 10 AMAT 4/23/21 $143.00 C @ $1.00 (+$1000)
This gets a Risk Factor 1.
I bought 1000 shares of CREE on 2/22 at $121.50. I’ve been selling Calls every week but I’m not happy with the way the option chain is acting. There is not much interest in the CREE options so they act differently than other stocks. If you look at the option chain you will see there are huge spreads between the ask and the bid prices. I don’t like this! I really hope I get assigned on this stock soon and move on. Today with the stock in the $113 area I sold 10 contracts of the CREE 4/23/21 $121 Calls for a premium of $1.30 for $1300. If assigned I’ll lose 50¢ on the stock. I lowered the Strike Price a little for the better premium and a better chance of getting assigned.
Sell to Open 10 CREE 4/23/21 $121.00 C @ $1.30 (+$1300)
This trade gets a Risk Factor 2 because I can lose money on the stock with assignment. However, with all the Calls I sold on these shares I’m way ahead of the game.
The next trade is a Grasshopper Trade. Last week I bought 100 shares of U.S. Steel at $24.25 and sold a $24.50 Call for a premium of 55¢. This week I sold 1 X 4/23/21 $24.50 Call for a premium of 50¢ for $50.
Sell 1 X 4/23/21 $24.50 C @ 50¢ (+$50)
This is a return of 2% for the 10 day trade. The trade gets a Risk Factor 1.
Successful trading,
